Michael is one of Canberra's leading commercial lawyers with over 45 years in practice and is a prominent member of the Canberra business and broader community.
His considerable experience and expertise in business & commercial practice enables him to provide quality advice and service to an extensive clientele base, both within the region and interstate.
A significant component of Michael’s practice has been in the field of occupational discipline involving cases in which he acts for the Law Society of the ACT in its role as the regulator of the legal profession in the Territory. Michael has historically chaired the ACT Law Society’s Ethics Committee (for many years). He has now retired from this work, preferring to focus on his many interests outside of the law including travelling, travelling, travelling and his grandchildren.
Michael is a former president of both the Law Council of Australia and the Law Society of the Australian Capital Territory. His appointments also included a term as the Deputy-Secretary General of the International Bar Association.
As a part of his commitment to the Canberra community, he has served as Chairman and as a member on a number of statutory boards, as well as numerous community-based organisations. Michael is a former President and remains a member of the Canberra Cancerians, raising substantial funds on behalf of the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
We are pleased that though Michael is transitioning to retirement, he continues to consult to the firm, and undertakes primarily commercial work on a case-by-case basis. He can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org or via his personal assistant Rene Kremisis at email@example.com.
