Narika joined the firm in April 2016 as a personal assistant in the family law team. She completed her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International Security Studies at the Australian National University in July 2017 and was admitted as a lawyer in December 2017. Previously, Narika was employed at another Canberra law firm working predominantly in family law.
Narika has over three years pre-admission experience in family law and looks forward to carrying that experience through to her practice as a lawyer. She has a rapidly developing knowledge of family law and makes valuable contributions to the firm’s discussions of novel or complex legal problems.
Narika understands that a separation is often the first legal problem that clients have and that this can be a confusing and difficult time. She is committed to avoiding ‘lawyer speak’ and making sure that she gives clients the information they need to make fully informed decisions about their options. Clients value Narika’s kind and calm approach, and her ability to listen and quickly provide pragmatic and considered solutions to their legal problems.
Narika works closely with Brooke, Averil, and the rest of the Phelps Reid Foster Johnson team and is looking forward to developing her skills as an advocate and a Collaborative Law Practitioner.
Narika is able to assist with all family law issues, including property settlement, parenting, spouse maintenance and child support. She also has expertise in estate planning, such as drafting Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney after having worked closely with Michael Phelps for some time.
