Olivia has over 34 years’ legal experience, primarily in private practice as a Family Lawyer. In 1995 she was a founding partner of a boutique Canberra law firm conducting complex and demanding litigation in addition to being a strong proponent of negotiated and collaborative settlements. Olivia took a break from private practice in 2013 after which she taught Family Law at the ANU at undergraduate, Graduate diploma and Masters’ levels. In early 2016 she was appointed Deputy Registrar of the High Court of Australia in Canberra, working with some of Australia’s most brilliant legal minds. After three years at the High Court, Olivia returned to private practice in a firm which provides legal management consulting, legal cost control and legal project management expertise to Government and corporates.
Olivia has now returned to where her real passion lies – working with clients in a non-litigious, collaborative setting to settle their Family Law disputes. She brings with her the extra skills, experience and networks she has gained from her recent diverse roles.
In February 2021 we were thrilled to welcome Olivia to our PRFJ family as our Collaborative Specialist. Olivia is practising exclusively in collaborative law and specialises in cases with large and complex asset pools and sensitive and important parenting issues.
With Olivia comes her right-hand man Walter, the schnoodle. You will find him curled up under her desk or diligently policing our hallway.
